Six months of training, written down with intention.
The Athlete's Journal is a guided log for athletes who want to train the mind with the same discipline they bring to the body. It pairs weekly planning with session-by-session reflection, so you stop guessing how a block went and start reading the patterns in it — what your body was telling you, where your focus held, what moved you forward and what didn't.
This isn't a motivational read or a gratitude prompt dressed up for sport. It's a working tool. You plan the week, log each session while the detail is still honest, then review what the week actually showed you. Over twenty-six weeks the record compounds: a hard day reads differently three weeks later, and by month six you're coaching yourself from evidence instead of memory.
It's built for any sport and any level — endurance, strength, skill, competition. The rhythm holds whether you train twice a week or twice a day.
What's inside
-
Before you begin — A one-time athlete identity reflection, a six-month season map you fill in yourself (no pre-printed events), outcome and process goals side by side, and a letter to the athlete you want to become.
-
The weekly structure (the core — 26 weeks) — Each week opens with a plan: your focus, planned sessions, load target, the mindset you're training and a mantra to carry. Then up to seven session logs, each capturing how you arrived (energy, body, mind), what the session was for, what actually happened, the moment that mattered most, and one line to take into the next. Every four weeks begins with a block plan; every week closes with an end-of-week review and a recovery check.
-
The midpoint — A halfway reflection at three months: what's changed since you wrote your identity, what you know now that you didn't, what's been harder and easier than expected.
-
The season review — At the end, you read back the letter from day one and answer honestly. What you got right, what you got wrong, what the season cost and what it gave you, and who you are now.
